DHAKA, Aug 27, 2020 (BSS) – The parliamentary standing committee on home ministry today recommended to ensure housing facility of police personnel by constructing multi-storied buildings in specific zone/campus.

The meeting also recommended setting up a separate institutional authority for dop test/special health check-up following BSTI (Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institution) to strengthen drug control drugs activities across the country.

Advises put on the ministry to ensure legal efforts so that accused in drug related cases were not got release, according to an official statement of the parliament.

It said the 11th meeting was held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman Md Shamsul Haque Tuku in the chair.

At the beginning of the meeting, attendants observed one-minute silence and sought eternal peace for Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other members of his family were assassinated on the fateful night of August 15, 1975.

The committee members also sought eternal peace for those who were killed on 21 August and those who died in the coronavirus pandemic, the release said.

The meeting was attended by committee members and Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, Md Habibor Rahman, Shamsul Alam Dudu, Md Faridul Haque Khan and Peer Fazlur Rahman.

The meeting was also attended by public security secretary Mostafa Kamal Uddin, security services secretary Md Shahiduzzaman, heads of agencies under the two divisions and other concerned officials.
