IGP mourns death of OC Arif

DHAKA, Aug 27, 2020 (BSS) – Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Benazir Ahmed today condoled at the death of Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Daulatpur Police Station SM Arifur Rahman with Covid-19 yesterday night.

In a condolence message, he expressed profound shock at the death of the cop saying, “We have lost our dear another colleague Arifur Rahman who was a front fighter of preventing coronavirus.”

Dr Benazir said Arifur was a capable and professional police officer and also sincere to perform his respective duties.

He conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal peace of his departed soul.

The victim with coronavirus infection was undergoing treatment at Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital and he breathed his last around 10:45pm last night.

His body was sent to Kushtia under the management of police and was buried at his village in Khulna.

Earlier, Arifur Rahman was admitted to Kushtia 250-Bed General Hospital with breathing complications on August 14.

Bangladesh Police has reported deaths of 72 members from the deadly virus so far.
