DHAKA, Aug 26, 2020 (BSS) – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC)
today submitted a charge-sheet against suspended Deputy Inspector
General (DIG) of Prisons Bazlur Rashid in a case filed over amassing
illegal wealth.
ACC deputy director Md Nasir Uddin submitted the charge sheet before
the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge KM Imrul Kayes.
After receiving charge-sheet, Judge KM Emrul Kayesh set September 1
to decide over accepting the charge-sheet.
Bazlur was shown arrested on October 20, 2019, from ACC headquarters
in capital’s Segunbagicha in connection with the case lodged for
amassing illegal wealth of Taka 3.08 crore.
The DIG and his wife Razzakun Nahar appeared before the anti-graft
body on that day to face grilling about their illegal wealth. In the
interrogation, the DIG couldn’t give logical answer about his illegal
wealth.
