Mobile court fines banned polythene bag factoriesTk 3 lakh
DHAKA, Aug 24, 2020 (BSS) –Department of Environment conducted mobile courtsat banned polythene bag manufacturing factories in Kamalbagh and East Islamabagh areas and fined the owners Taka three lakh.
As part of the anti-pollution campaign and environmental protection activities, Executive Magistrate of Environment Department KaziTamzeed Ahmed today the conducted mobile courts at illegal polythene bag factories in Kamalbagh and East Islambagh areas in Dhaka.
During the drive, the executive magistrate fined Abdullah Packaging and an unnamed factory Taka three lakh for producing banned polythene bags.
A total of 6,000kg of polythene materials worth Taka six lakh were seized from these factories.
Besides, power supply of the two factories was cut off with the help of Dhaka Power Distribution Company.
KaziTamjeed Ahmed said, the crackdown on banned polythene production and marketing would be intensified in the future.
