CHATTOGRAM, Aug 24, 2020 (BSS)- Chattogram district administration is going to launch an integrated online education programme for the students of class six to 10 as all types of educational institutions have been closed for about five months after the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) AZM Sharif Hossain said the integrated online education programme will be inaugurated tomorrow by Deputy Commissioner Ilias Hossain.

District administration officials told BSS that the programme will conduct on five subjects– Bengali, English, Science, information and communication technology and mathematics– for the students of grade six to eight.

In addition, plans have been made to take classes on 13 subjects, including subject-based classes for the students of science, humanities and business education departments in the ninth and 10th grades.

These online learning activities will be conducted through Zoom Apps and Facebook, the sources added.

AZM Sharif Hossain said the district administration is launching the integrated online education programme to speed up the stalled education due to the coronavirus.

“Due to the Corona situation, the students were taught through a few mediums like television but there the teachers just left after their respective lectures. There is no opportunity for the students to ask questions or solve their problems,” he said, adding that if the students do not understand the teacher’s lectures, they will have the opportunity to ask questions in this integrated online education programme.
