DHAKA, Aug 31, 2017 (BSS) – Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said talking about kidnapping and killing people does not suit BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

“BNP killed hundreds of people, including Awami League leaders and activists, when they were in power… Talking about kidnapping and killing people does not suit BNP,” he told reporters while visiting Mohakhali Bus Terminal.

Referring Khaleda Zia’s comments, Quader said, “Bring back our Ahasan Ullah Master, Momtaj Uddin, Ivy Rahman, businessman Jamal Uddin and others…Could you bring back them?…You have no right to talk about kidnapping and murdering.”

“With our sincere efforts, roads and highways across the country were made fully suitable for vehicular movements,” he said.

“Our vigilance teams are working to check charging extra bus fares from the homebound passengers. The authorities concerned have been asked to stop unfair practices in the transport sector,” he added.

Quader said stern actions would be taken against those taking extra bus fares from the passengers.

Quader, also the AL general secretary, said the roads and highways damaged by floodwater have already been repaired and now those are fit for plying vehicles.
