Aug 21 grenade attack victims recalled in Moscow

DHAKA, Aug 21, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Mission in Moscow today held a remembrance meeting and a discussion memorialising the martyrs and victims of the August 21 grenade attack.

Bangladesh Ambassador in Moscow Kamrul Ahasan presided over the meeting, according to a message received here.

On the occasion, the messages of President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were read out at the onset of the meeting.
Speakers at the discussion recalled the people, who were killed in a grenade attack on August 21 in 2004, and sought eternal peace of their departed souls.

They demanded exemplary punishment of those involved in the barbaric grenade attack.

Condemning the grenade attack, Ambassador Kamrul Ahasan said this incident severely tarnished the image of Bangladesh in the international arena apart from bringing a collapse at the national level.

He recalled the victims of the August 21 grenade attack with deep respect and called for presenting their sacrifice to all.

Later, a doa mahfil was held seeking eternal peace of the martyrs of the August 21 grenade attack, and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and others killed on August 15, 1975.
