DHAKA, Aug 17, 2020 (BSS) – Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzak today said August 15 is a day of extreme pain, suffering and shame as Bangabandhu, the founder of Bengali nation, along with his family members was assassinated by conspirators on the day in 1975.
“The existence of Bangladesh cannot be imagined without Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, it is devoid of reality,” said Razzak while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion, marking the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day.
The meeting was organised by Ministry of Cultural Affairs at the National Theatre Bhaban of Shilpakala Academy here, said a press release.
Bangabandhu wanted to build Bangladesh on the basis of a secular, democratic, justice and equality. By killing Bangabandhu on 15th August, the domestic and foreign conspirators wanted to kill that ideology, he added.
“The perpetrators are still active. The culprits behind the August 15 assassination need to be exposed. Already the faces of many of conspirators have been exposed to the nation through their acts,” the minister added.
State Minister for Ministry of Cultural Affairs KM Khalid presided over the meeting while former cultural minister Asaduzzaman Noor addressed the meeting as special guest.
Chief Coordinator of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary celebration National Implementation Committee Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury presented an article at the meeting.
