BSTI fines two companies Tk 2.5 lakh in city
DHAKA, Aug 17, 2020 (BSS) – A mobile court of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) today fined two companies in Gulshan and Badda areas Taka 2.5 lakh for selling powder milk, soap, toothpastes and drinking water without approval.
The mobile court conducted by BSTI Executive Magistrate Rashida Akter also sealed off the two companies –Lavender at Gulshan and Heaven Pure Drinking Water at South Badda in the city, said a press release.
The mobile court fined Lavender Tk 2 lakh for selling powder milk, shampoos, soaps, toothpastes without BSTI authorisation while Heaven Pure Drinking Water was penalised Tk 50,000 for selling and marketing drinking water without having BSTI licence.
Separate cases were filed against the two companies, added the release.
