Humayun for building industry-rich ‘Sonar Bangla’ to respect Bangabandhu

DHAKA, Aug 15, 2020 (BSS) – Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun today called upon the officials and employees of the ministry to fulfill their responsibility with utmost sincerity for building industry-rich ‘Sonar Bangla’ to pay real homage to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“The success in dealing with the coronavirus situation, huge manpower and huge domestic market has created new opportunities for relocation of factories to Bangladesh from different countries across the world. We can pay real respect to Bangabandhu through building an industry-rich ‘Sonar Bangla’ by 2041,” he said.

The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion and doa mahfil marking the 45th martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day-2020 at the Industries Ministry in the city, said a press release.

Industries Secretary KM Ali Azam presided over the meeting while Managing Director of the SME Foundation Md Shafiqul Islam, Director General of the Bangladesh Industrial and Technical Assistance Center (BITAC) Dr Md Mofizur Rahman and Additional Secretary of the Industries Ministry Salah Uddin Mahmud, among others, were present on the occasion.

Humayun said due to the impact of coronavirus, the economies of the industrialized countries were facing serious challenges, but under the prudent policy and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the positive trend of economy continued in Bangladesh.

He said Bangabandhu was a successful statesman and in just three and a half years after independence, he set a specific goal and initiated change in all sectors of the country.

“Vision 2021 and Vision 2041’ announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have been determined on the basis of Bangabandhu’s development philosophy,” he added.
