Special doa, munajat held marking Mourning Day

DHAKA, Aug 14, 2020 (BSS) – Special prayers and munajats were offered at all the mosques of the country after Juma prayers today marking the National Mourning Day to be observed tomorrow.

Following health guidelines and maintaining social distancing, the special prayers and munajats were offered seeking the eternal peace for Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his martyred family members, an Islamic Foundation press release said.

Pesh imam of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque mufti Mohammad Muhibullahil Baki conducted a special doa and munajat at the national mosque in the capital, while Islamic Foundation director general Anis Mahmud and its senior officials joined it.

The Islamic Foundation has taken various programmes to observe the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day tomorrow (Saturday).

The programmes include holding Quran Khawani and milad mahfils, offering special prayers, holding discussion on Bangabandhu’s life and works, providing free healthcare services, and arranging online competitions for students.

Quran Khwanis and milad mahfils will be held tomorrow at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, Dhaka’s Banani graveyard, the Andarkilla Shahi Jame Mosque of Chattogram and other mosques.

On the day, a Quran Khwani and a milad mahfil will be held at the graveyard of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara of Gopalganj.

The IF will provide free healthcare services to people at its Agargaon head office, Baitul Mukarram Diagnostic Centre and all centres of Islamic mission tomorrow.
