Razib finishes 22nd position in World Open Chess

DHAKA, Aug.10, 2020 (BSS) – Grandmaster Enamul Hossain Razib of Bangladesh finished with 22nd position in the 48th Annual World Open Chess Tournament organised by the Continental Chess Association.

The event was held at the online chess platform Internet Chess Club (ICC).

Razib has scored 5.5 points out nine game after he tied for the 19th place in the tie-breaking system.

The 7th, 8th and 9th round games were held Sunday night with GM Razib drew with 2660 rated GM Samuel Sevian of USA in 7th round, he lost to 2527 rated GM Nicolas Checa of USA in 8th round and allit point with Teddie Wen.

GM P Iniyan of India emerged champion with 7.5 points while GM Sjugirov Sanan of Russia became runner-up with the same points.

The event is US rated event and a total of 122 players including 25 Grand Masters from different countries took part in the tournament.

The event was held in a nine round Swiss-League system.
