Razib wins 1st,3rd round of Annual World Open Chess

DHAKA, Aug 8, 2020 (BSS)- Grandmaster Enamul Hossain Razib of Bangladesh won against FIDE Master Mark J. Lonoff in the first round and Miles Ardaman in the third round respectively of the 48th Annual World Open Chess Tournament that started last night at the online chess platform Internet Chess Club (ICC).

Razib however lost to Grandmaster Andre Sumets in the second round match. He has scored two points out of three matches in the tournament organized by the Continental Chess Association.

The game started last night at the online chess platform Internet Chess Club (ICC) due to COVID-19 situation.

The event is a US rated event, where a total of 122 players including 25 Grand Masters are participating.

A total of 20,000 US dollars will be awarded in this competition and the event is being held in nine rounds Swiss-League system.

The 4th round games are scheduled to start from tonight (11 pm) BST.
