No exertion will be tolerated in sacrificial animal markets : Atiqul
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam today said that no extortion and harassment will be tolerated in the sacrificial animal markets before the Eid-ul-Azha.
He said this while inspecting the makeshift sacrificial animal market set up near Purbachal Bridge area here.
During the visit, he roamed the cattle market and exchanged views with cattle buyers and sellers.
He advised everyone to follow proper health guidelines to stay safe from coronavirus (COVID-19).
He expressed his optimism over the discipline of the cattle market saying :”Our Haat Monitoring Committee is regularly visiting various Haats. Several magistrates are doing their responsibilities with sincerity in every market.”
The mayor urged people to buy animals online through DNCC digital cattle market and advised the buyers not to come to the market physically amid the pandemic.
DNCC chief property officer Mozammel Haque, 18 number Ward Councilor Zakir Hossain, 19 number Ward Councilor Mofizur Rahman, 51 number Ward Councilor Sharifur Rahman and concerned officials of Haat committee were present on the occasion.
