Road mishap kills 6 in Cox’s Bazar

COX’S BAZAR, July 22, 2020 (BSS) – At least six people were killed
and two others injured as a Laguna collided head-on with a covered van
at Chakaria Upazila in Cox’s Bazar today.

The victims were Badiul Alam, 50, hailed from Harbong, Firoj Ahmed,
32, from Chakoria, Minar Uddin, 23, from Lohagara, and Al Amin, 48,
from Bandarban.

Chiringha highway police station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Anisur
Rahman said that the accident took place when the two vehicles
collided head-on at Burir Dokan point of North Harbong area on the
Cox’s Bazar-Chittagong Highway around 5:30pm, leaving eight persons
badly injured.

With the help of locals, the injured were rushed to Chakoria Health
Complex where the doctors on duty declared six of them dead.

The bodies were kept at Chakoria Health Complex while the injured
are being referred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for better
treatment.
