DHAKA, July 21, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Railways will not make any special arrangement for carrying additional passengers during the Eid-ul-Azha and train operation will remain normal maintaining the health guidelines strictly in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.

“No special train will operate as the government took a move to discourage people in going home marking the Eid-ul-Azha,” Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan told reporters after inaugurating a tree plantation programme at Kamalapur Railway Station here this morning.

He urged the people to stay wherever they are now to keep them safe from being affected by the deadly virus while health experts recently alerted that virus transmission rate can reach at its higher level if health guidelines are not followed strictly during the Eid-ul-Azha, one of the biggest religious festivals of the Muslim community, that marks the sacrifice of animals.

Railways Secretary Md Selim Reza and Bangladesh Railway Director General Md Shamsuzzaman were present, among others.
