69 arrested in anti-drug drive in capital
DHAKA, July 16, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 69 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the anti-narcotics drives in the capital in the last 24 hours till Thursday.
The law enforcers carried out separate drives in various parts of the capital starting from 6am Wednesday to 6 am Thursday.
During the drive, police recovered 4,659 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 291 grams and 31 dollops of heroin, 3.486 kg and 200 dollops of cannabis, 5 bottles of Phensedyl and 6 bottles of imported liquors from their possession, said a DMP press release issued here today.
A total of 62 cases have been filed against the detainees under the Narcotics Control Act with different police stations, added the release.
