High flow oxygen plant set up at Chandpur General Hospital

CHANDPUR, July 11, 2020 (BSS) – A high flow oxygen plant has been launched at Chandpur Government General Hospital aiming at meeting the growing demand for oxygen in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni inaugurated the plant through videoconferencing from her residence in the capital this afternoon.

Language Veteran MA Wadhud Foundation, which was formed after the name of Dipu Moni’s father MA Wadhud, funded the plant while the hospital authority will maintain it.

Addressing the inaugural function, the education minister said the high flow oxygen plant has been set up at the Chandpur general hospital to save the people from death as many people are dying from COVID-19 due to shortage of oxygen.

But it will be used for other patients after the coronavirus situation comes normal, she said, adding, “Because we have many plans for developing the hospital”.

Presided over by Chandpur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Majedur Rahman Khan, Chandpur district Awami League vice president Dr JR Wadud inaugurated the plant cutting a red ribbon as the special guest.

Superintendent of Police (acting) Md Mizanur Rahman, Chandpur district Awami League President municipality Mayor Nasir Uddin Ahmad and general secretary Abu Naeem Patwary, and Chandpur Government General Hospital Supervisor Dr Md Habib Ul Karim addressed the virtual function, among others.
