Four arrested for robbery at Walton Plaza showroom
DHAKA, July 5, 2020 (BSS) – Sher-e-Bangla nagar thana police arrested four alleged members of a gang involved in a robbery at the Walton Plaza showroom in city’s Panthapath area.
The arrestees are- Rabiul Islam, Sumon, Rana and Sathi, police sources said.
DMP’s Deputy Commissioner Harun-ur-Rashid confirmed arrests of robbery incident at a press conference organized by Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station today.
Harun-ur-Rashid said the robbery took place at midnight on June 23 at the Walton Plaza showroom in Panthapath. Following the incident, Walton showroom team manager Rana Miah filed a case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
During investigation, police collected CCTV footages from the adjacent buildings and detained criminals from different areas of the capital.
After primary interrogation, Rabiul Islam gave confessional statement about his involvement in the robbery. The other arrestees will be sent to court.
According to police, the robbers took away 24 refrigerators, 5 LED televisions, a mobile phone and Taka 4,500 taka from the driver and Taka 800 taka from the helper.
Police recovered 18 Walton refrigerators and three LED televisions from their possession.
