View-exchange meeting held in Kurigram
KURIGRAM, July 5, 2020 (BSS) – A view-exchange meeting was held on situation of coronavirus and flood in the district.
State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossain was present as the chief guest at the meeting at district administration’s conference room this afternoon.
During the meeting, a proposal was made to set up a PCR lab in Kurigram district because the number of coronavirus victims is gradually increasing.
Civil Surgeon of Kurigram Dr Habibur Rahman confirmed the matter saying that 206 people were infected with coronavirus and three died in the district.
The state minister assured them saying that the issue of PCR lab would be taken up with the Prime Minister.
He also said that the government has made an announcement to open educational institutions and continue education considering coronavirus situation.
The government is working to keep teachers and students connected with study through online, the state minister added.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rezaul Karim presided over the function while Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mahibul Islam Khan also spoke at the meeting.
Senior officials of the district were present at the meeting.
