Lockdown at Wari from July 4

DHAKA, June 30, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said Wari, a coronavirus hotspot in the capital, will be put under lockdown for 21days from July 4 to prevent community transmission of coronavirus.

The mayor said this after a preparatory meeting of the central management committee for the implementation of the lockdown of the DSCC at Nagar Bhaban this evening.

Taposh said the Wari area would be locked down from 6am on July 4 to July 25. Everything will be closed at this time. Only two roads will remain open for traffic.

Corona sample testing will be arranged in the lockdown area at this time. Besides, other emergency services will also be provided.

He also said non-covid patients in the lockdown area would be given treatment if needed and only medicines and essential products will be provided.

Besides, Mina Bazar, Swapna and others will provide daily necessities through e-commerce at this time.

People of the area will be made aware of the lockdown through loudspeaker before the execution of the lockdown.

Tipu Sultan Road, Jahangir Road, Dhaka-Sylhet Highway ( Joykali Temple to Balda garden) and Larlmini street, Hare street, War street, Rankin street and Nawab street in Ward 41 of DSCC will be put under the lockdown.
