COVID-19 cases cross 7,200 in Ctg district

CHATTOGRAM, June 25, 2020 (BSS) – The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases crossed the 7,200 as 241 more new patients were diagnosed with the lethal virus at the five laboratories after testing 971 samples in the district in last 24 hours.

“The total numbers of COVID-19 patients are now stand at 7221 only in Chattogram district till today,” Civil surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS today.

Of the newly detected 241 COVID-19 patients, 192 are the residents of the port city and the rest 49 are residents of different upazilas of the district.

Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said that with today’s three death today, the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) death toll in Chattogram reached 156.

A total of 835 persons were released from the hospital after recovery from COVID-19 infection till today, he added.

Dr Rabbi told that 48 new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed with the corona virus at BITID, Chattogram after testing 275 samples in last 24 hours.

A total of 42 new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed with the coronavirus at Chattogram University after testing 241 samples in last 24 hours

Ninety-four more new COVID-19 patients were tested corona positive at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) after testing 349 samples during the same period.

Besides, nine new COVID-19 patients were identified at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Science University (CVASU) after testing 100 samples, the civil surgeon said.

Besides, 46 more corona patients were identified at city’s Imperial Hospital after testing 94 samples during the same period.

On the other hand, two residents of Lohagara upazila were identified as COVID-19 positive after testing 11 samples at Cox’s Bazar Medical College Hospital in last 24 hours.
