AL-ANNIVERSARY-DOA
AL holds doa mahfil marking 71st anniversary
DHAKA, June 23, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Awami League (AL), one of
the country’s oldest political parties which led the country’s
liberation War, organized a doa mahfil marking the party’s 71st
founding anniversary today.
The doa mahfil was held at party president and Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina’s political office in the city’s Dhanmondi area in the
afternoon.
In the doa mahfil, a munajat was offered seeking eternal peace of
departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman and other martyrs of 1975 carnage, four national leaders, 1971
martyrs, martyrs of different movements and struggles, and those AL
leaders who died of coronavirus infection.
Healthy and long life of Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister and
AL President Sheikh Hasina and his (Bangabandhu) family members was
also sought in the munajat.
Awami League Presidium Members Begum Matia Chowdhury, Jahangir Kabir
Nanak and Abdur Rahman, Joint General Secretaries Information Minister
Dr Hasan Mahmud and AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing Secretaries Ahmed
Hossain, S M Kamal Hossain, Mirza Azam, Sakhawat Hossain Shafiq and
Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, Science and Technology Affairs Secretary
Abdus Sabur, Education and Human Resources Affairs Secretary Shamsun
Nahar Chapa, Health Affairs Secretary Dr Rokeya Sultana, Women and
Children Affairs Secretary Maher Afroz Chumki, Finance and Planning
Affairs Secretary Waseqa Ayesha Khan, Information and Research Affairs
Secretary Dr Selim Mahmood, Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan and
Central Working Committee Member Sahabuddin Farazi were present at the
doa mahfil.
AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul
Quader also joined the doa mahfil through video conferencing from his
residence.
