AL pays tributes to Bangabandhu in Tungipara

GOPALGANJ, June 23, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Awami League (AL) today paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of the party’s 71st founding anniversary.

The leaders and activists of the party led by Central Awami League presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak paid the homage by placing wreaths on Bangabandhu’s grave in Tungipara of Gopalganj this morning.

Nanak said, “Awami League is a party of mass people. The party started its journey under the dynamic leadership of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for building a non-communal country.

Bangladesh achieved its independence through a nine-month long bloody struggle under the leadership of Bangabandhu, but he was killed brutally on August 15, 1975, he added.

Nanak said under the able leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, militancy has been root out from the country.

He said that the party has been working for establishing the rights of the people since its inception. All achievements of the people of Bangladesh came through the hands of AL.

Central AL Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing Secretary SM Kamal Hossain, Member Sahabuddin Faraji, District AL President Chowdhury Emdadul Haque, General Secretary Mahabub Ali Khan, publicity and publication Secretary M Badrul Alam Badar and Tungipara Upazila AL President Abul Basar Khair were present on the occasion.

Besides, special prayers were offered and milad and doa mahfil have been arranged seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
