40 percent mess rent to be waived in Rangpur
RANGPUR, June 18, 2020 (BSS) – The district administration in a
joint meeting with the owners of different messes today decided to
waive 40 percent rent of the resident students living in those messes
in the city during the coronavirus pandemic.
The decision was taken unanimously in the meeting held with
representatives of all mess owners’ associations and student
representatives at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner with
Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan in the chair.
After emerging from the meeting, General Secretary of Ashratpur Mess
Owners’ Association Md. Abdus Salam confirmed the matter.
“In the meeting with the Deputy Commissioner and student leaders and
representatives, we have decided to give a 40 percent discount on mess
rent for resident students under the present situation caused by the
COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.
President of the Begum Rokeya University unit of Bangladesh Chhatra
League Abu Monnaf Al Kibria Tushar thanked the Deputy Commissioner and
the mess owners of the city for the decision.
