BAF aircraft leaves for S Korea to bring medical aids

DHAKA, June 17, 2020 (BSS) – Fifteen aircrew of the Bangladesh Air
Force (BAF) departed here from BAF Base Bangabandhu for South Korea
today by the BAF C-130J aircraft to bring essential healthcare aid.

The aircraft is expected to return tomorrow with the medical
equipment, said a press release.

Air Commodore Syed Saidur Rahman led the team while BAF Air Chief
Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat provided the necessary guidance to
carry out the mission.

In compliance with the policies published by the government, the
armed forces are conducting various activities under the direction of
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

To strengthen the coronavirus prevention system of the country, the
Bangladesh Armed Forces have adopted a plan to collect medical aid,
including N-95 masks, surgical masks, electrical thermometers, medical
safety glasses, protective gloves, goggles and personal protective
equipment (PPE) in response to the South Korean government’s proposal.

Mentionable, BAF is providing emergency aviation transportation and
medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) support under “In aid to civil power’ of
the Armed Forces Division to prevent coronavirus.
