Tk 1,717 crore proposed for EC
DHAKA, June 11, 2020 (BSS) – Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has earmarked Tk 1,717 crore for the Election Commission (EC) Secretariat in the proposed budget for fiscal 2020-2021.
The finance minister proposed the allocation while placing the budget for fiscal 2020-21 in parliament here today with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
The government had allocated Tk 1,921 crore for the EC in the proposed budget for fiscal 2019-20, while its revised budget of the current fiscal was Tk 2,219.
