JS polls schedule in October: EC secy
TANGAIL, June 23, 2018 (BSS) – Secretary of Election Commission (EC) secretariat Helal Uddin Ahmed today said the schedule of 11th Jatiya Sangsad election will be announced in late October.
He told newsmen after a meeting on law and order ahead of the Basail municipality polls in the district. Ahmed said though Basail is a small municipality, the EC put similar importance to every election.
View-exchange meetings have been held with law enforcement agencies to hold upcoming election including Basail municipality and city corporation polls in a free, fair, neutral and peaceful manner, he added.
The EC secretary said the commission has taken all-out preparations to make Basail municipality polls on June 30 an acceptable one.
Tangail Deputy Commissioner Md Nurul Amin chaired the meeting at Basail upazila parishad auditorium while Additional Secretary of EC secretariat Mokhlesur Rahman and Tangail Police Super Sanjit Kumar Roy were present on the occasion, among others.
