Water levels in 60 rivers rise, 28 fall

DHAKA, June 8, 2020 (BSS) – Water levels at 60 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while 28 stations recorded fall.

Among the 93 monitored stations, five river stations have registered steady, said a bulletin issued by the FFWC here today.

According to Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) and India Bangladesh Meteorological Department, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur at Asam, Borak, Tripura and adjacent areas and north and south areas of Bangladesh.

Significant rainfall was recorded at some stations in different districts
during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today, the bulletin added.
A total of 125 millimeters (mm) rainfall was recorded at Latu and 121 mm at Zakiganj, 85 mm at Lallakhal, 82 mm at Kanaighat, 80 mm at Dakhhinbag, 65 mm at Sherpur-Sylhet, 63 mm at Moulvibazar, 60 mm at Brammanbaria and 58 mm at Srimangal.
