35 more positive tests for coronavirus in Rangpur

RANGPUR, June 7, 2020 (BSS) – Thirty-five more people were tested
positive for coronavirus today at the two COVID-19 Laboratories in
Rangpur and Dinajpur of Rangpur division.

Health officials said the new 35 infected patients of seven
districts in the division were reported after diagnosing 376 samples
at the two laboratories.

Of them, 17 new patients of two districts were reported after
diagnosing 188 samples at the COVID-19 Laboratory at Rangpur Medical
College (RpMC) in Rangpur city.

“The new patients include 14 of Rangpur and three of Gaibandha
districts” Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task
Force and Principal of RpMC Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnabi Lyzu told BSS
tonight.

On the other hand, 18 new patients were reported after diagnosing
188 samples at the COVID-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical
College (MARMC) in Dinajpur.

“The new COVID-19 patients include 10 of Dinajpur and eight of
Thakurgaon districts,” Principal of MARMC Professor Dr. Shibesh Sarker
said.

Focal Person of COVID-19 and Assistant Director (Health) for Rangpur
division Dr. ZA Siddiqui said the total number of COVID-19 patients
rose to 1,386 as 35 new cases were reported from across the division.

“The district-wise break up of the patients stands at 482 in
Rangpur, 87 in Panchagarh, 154 in Nilphamari, 49 in Lalmonirhat, 76 in
Kurigram, 143 in Thakurgaon, 315 in Dinajpur and 80 Gaibandha
districts in the division,” Dr. Siddiqui said.
