Postal stamp marking historic Six-Point Day released
DHAKA, June 7, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Post Office (BPO) today released memorial postal stamp and its first day cover of Taka 10 denomination marking the historic Six-Point Day.
Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar unveiled the stamp and cover at a virtual ceremony from his residence, said a press release.
Speaking on the occasion, he said Six-Point demand was the key of the independence of Bangladesh as all the issues for the declaration of independence was included here.
“Six-Point means declaration of independence and Bangali nation marched towards 1969 Mass Uprising through different movements under the uncompromising leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” said Jabbar.
Posts and telecommunications division secretary Nur-Ur-Rahman, additional secretaries Md Azizul Islam and Shahadat Hossain and BPO additional director general Harun Or Rashid also spoke on the occasion with BPO director general SS Bhadra in the chair.
