90kg ganja, 500 yaba tablets and arms seized in capital
DHAKA, June 5, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive recovered 90 kilogram ganja, 500 pieces Yaba tablets and detained a man with a pistol from Mirpur Beribadh area on Thursday night.
A team of RAB-4 led by Deputy Captain Major Md Raqibul Hasan and senior assistant superintendent of police Mohammad Sajedul Islam Sajal conducted a drive at 11pm on Thursday at Beribadh (Diabari) area, Sajal told BSS.
Apart from recovering ganja and yaba tablets, the RAB team seized a pistol, a magazine and two round of bullet from a covered-van and arrested one Ali Hossain, 45, of Noakhali district from the spot. The RAB personnel also seized the covered van, he added.
RAB sources said the detainee is accused in more than one cases relating to arms and drug peddling at different police stations in the capital.
Filing of case is underway in this connection, he added.
