DHAKA, June 4, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury today said mobile court is working to ensure the health and naval guidelines compliance during water vessels movement to contain the spread of COVID-19 outbreak.
“To stop the transmission of deadly coronavirus, if needed, they (mobile court) will also penalize the law breakers financially,” he said while visiting Shimulia (Mawa) launch, speedboat and ferry ghats, said a press release.
He said government is trying to make all possible efforts to check the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
The state minister urged all to comply with health and naval guidelines.
He said Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) and Department of Shipping have been working to create awareness among the passengers and vessels owners from March for health safety measures.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Chairman Commodore Golam Sadeq, among others, was present.
