PM donates Tk122.02cr to all mosques
DHAKA, May 20, 2020 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given
financial assistance of over Taka 122.02 crore to all the mosques across the
country during the coronavirus situation.
The donation money was sent today to the concerned districts through
electronic fund transfer (EFT) and the donation is being distributed through
the deputy commissioners, upazila nirbahi officers and directors or deputy
directors of the Islamic Foundation, said an Islamic Foundation press
release.
As per the press release, due to the prevailing coronavirus (Covid-19)
outbreak in the world, the devotees are not able to perform their prayers in
the mosques of the country due to various reasons including maintaining the
health rules and social distance.
As a result, the income of the mosques has decreased due to the decrease of
donations and other assistance. So, it has become difficult to meet the daily
expenses of the mosques, the release said.
In the current situation, the Prime Minister has provided donations to
every mosque to alleviate the financial difficulties of the mosques.
