Webinar on COVID-19 challenges begins at DU tomorrow

DHAKA, May 15 (BSS) – A series of webinars on social impact and challenges of

COVID 19 titled ‘How is Bangladesh Confronting the Pandemic-COVID 19?’ will be

commenced tomorrow.

A total of 10 sessions will be conducted between May 16 to May 27 where around

120 participants from different universities, institutions, NGOs and SAVE youth

will take part through ‘ZOOM’, said Aynul Islam, coordinator of the conference

also Associate Professor of DU Political Science department. With an aim to

empower community people and build social resilience to counter COVID 19 invisible

challenges, the programme create a virtual platform for youth, experts and

stakeholders by which they will share knowledge and best practices.

Faculty of Social Sciences and Micro-governance Research Initiative of DU is

organising the conference with the support from the International Foundation for

Electoral Systems (IFES) and UKAID.

Renowned academicians and researchers include Vasu Mohan of IFES Asia Pacific,
IFES Country Director Silja Paasilinna and Dean of DU Social Science Faculty

Professor Dr. Sadeka Halim will conduct the sessions.
