One held with yaba tablets in Lalmonirhat

RANGPUR, May 15, 2020 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an
alleged ‘professional’ drug trader with contraband yaba tablets from Khedabag
village in Sadar upazila of Lalmonirhat district Thursday midnight.

“An operational team of the Crime Prevention Specialised Company (CPSC) of
RAB-13 seized 755 pieces of yaba tablets, a motorcycle, two mobile phone sets
and two SIM cards, and arrested the drug trader from the spot,” a press
release said here this afternoon.

The arrested drug trader is Md. Alamgir Hossain, 30, son of Md. Abdur Rahim
of village Chandrakhana Balatari in Phulbari upazila of nearby Kurigram
district.

During interrogation, the arrested person admitted that he had been
involved with smuggling and trading of drugs and narcotic substances in the
frontier area for a long time.

After filing a case in this connection against the arrested person, the
elite force handed him over to Lalmonirhat Sadar police station today, the
release added.
