CSE donates Tk 25 lakh to PM’s relief and welfare fund
DHAKA, May 10, 2020 (BSS) – The management and staffs of Chittagong Stock
Exchange (CSE) today contributed their one month basic salary of Tk 25 lakh
to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund.
CSE Chairman Asif Ibrahim handed over the cheque for the amount to Prime
Minister’s Principal Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus at the Prime Minister’s
Office today, said a press release.
While giving away the cheque,
CSE Chairman Asif Ibrahim apprised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina that the
CSE has taken the responsibility of 4000 destitute families in Chattogram
during the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic crisis.
Praising the leadership of the Prime Minister to lead from the front to
face the COVID-19 crisis, Asif said, “We are inspired by you (PM) and
together as a nation we shall overcome this crisis”.
The CSE Chairman also requested the Prime Minister to kindly consider the
CSE’s request of a stimulus package of Tk 1050 crore for the benefit of
retail investors and brokerage houses.
CSE Managing Director Mr Mamun Ur Rashid was also present on the occasion.
