Corona test lab launches at CMCH

CHATTOGRAM, May 9, 2020 (BSS) – Another PCR lab has been set up at
Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) to test the samples for
infected coronavirus patients.

It is the third lab in Chattogram after BITID and CVASU.

Chattogram City Corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin inaugurated the
lab set up at the microbiology department of CMCH on Saturday.

The activities of the lab were started through experimental sample
testing after inauguration. From now on, the collected samples of the
infected patients will be tested in this lab, CMCH source said.

The corona test only for Chattogram City Corporation area will be
done in this lab. CMCH will not collect samples directly rather
different hospitals after collecting samples will send those to this
lab.

Director of CMCH Brigadier General SM Humayun Kabir, Divisional
Director (Health) Dr Hasan Shahriar Kabir, CMCH Principal Dr Mohammad
Shamim Hasan, Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, BMA Chattogram
branch president Prof Mujibul Haque Khan, general secretary Dr Faisal
Iqbal Chowdhury and head of the department of Microbiology Dr Ehsanul
Haque, among others, were present on the occasion.
