Kishoreganj Zila Parishad member suspended over relief irregularities
DHAKA, April 21, 2020 (BSS) – The Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry today suspended Kishoreganj Zila Parishad member Md Kamruzzaman for his alleged involvement in relief distribution irregularities.
The ministry issued a gazette notification to this end, said an official press release.
A case was also filed against Kamruzzaman, a member of ward No-7 of the Zila Parishad, with Katiadi Model Police Station for misappropriating relief materials and involving in irregularities during relief distribution.
The notification said he was also found involved in relief distribution and packaging irregularities and subsequently police arrested him.
On April 18, Kishoreganj Zila Parishad authorities informed the matter to the Local Government Division through a letter.
Kamruzzaman was suspended under the Zila Parishad Act (amendment) 2016, the release added.
