DHAKA, April 21, 2020 (BSS) – As per the instruction of Information Minister and Awami League joint general secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud, the AL men will reap the paddy of the farmers in Rangunia during this Boro season.
The farmers of Rangunia are fearing that their ripen paddy would be damaged any time due to natural disasters as they have been facing shortage of agriculture labourers and cash crisis amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, a ministry press release said.
Under this circumstances, the release said, Dr Hasan Mahmud announced that AL men would help the marginal farmers of Rangunia upazila (Chattogram-7), wherefrom he was elected lawmaker in the last general polls, harvest their Boro paddy.
As per the instruction of the information minister, a committee involving leaders of Rangunia Upazila Krisak League, Juba League and Chhatra League has been formed in this regard.
The committee will help farmers of all areas of Rangunia upazila harvest their Boro paddy by taking necessary measures.
The committee comprising Rangunia municipality Krisak League senior vice president Shamsul Islam, its general secretary Enamul Haque, upazila Chhatra League joint secretary Russel Rasu, vice president Mahmudul Islam Russel and upazila Juba League member Md Mohsin has already started working in this regard.
Rangunia Municipality Krisak League general secretary Enamul Haque said Dr Hasan Mahmud always comes forward in any humanitarian crisis to help the common people.
Besides, his political followers also stand by people following his footprints, Enamul said, adding that is why Rangunia Municipality Krisak League has taken the initiative to help the farmers harvest their paddy.
“The farmers in Rangunia have fallen in trouble due to shortage of agriculture labourers and cash crisis amid the coronavirus pandemic,” Chattogram North Krisak League general secretary and Rangunia upazila vice chairman Shafiqul Islam said.
Standing by the farmers in the crisis, he said, the Krisak League is going to accomplish a humanitarian task.
