DHAKA, April 21, 2020 (BSS)-The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) trashed the
allegation against former national opener Javed Omar Belim Golla, terming it
baseless and irrational.

Reports suggested that Javed who was serving as the manager of the
Bangladesh women’s team during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup had passed the
team information for which International Cricket Council (ICC) instructed BCB
to keep him away from the action.

But only a day after the allegation against the former batsman, the BCB
reacted sharply, saying that they didn’t get any such instruction from the
world’s cricket apex body.

“All I can say that we didn’t get any such sort of instruction from the
ICC,” BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury told the BSS today.

“Normally ICC informed president or me about such things if it happens.
But neither president nor me did get such kind of information from the ICC.
This is a sensitive case, so everyone should be careful of what he is
writing. A person’s social and personal image is involved in it,” he added.

Javed, a solid opening batsman and well known for his patience and sound
technique was disappointed to see such kind of news. He however decided not
to make comment on the matter.

“BCB has clarified the matter, I do not have anything to clarify. I have
no comments on this matter for the time being,” he said.

Javed who made his Bangladesh debut in 1995 played 40 Test and 59 ODI’s
during his career.
