Youngone donates PPE, masks to help govt fight against COVID-19
DHAKA, April 15, 2020 (BSS) – Youngone Corporation today donated 15,000 PPEs, 25,000 of masks, and 1,150 of basic face shield to the government as a partial delivery to support the government initiatives to combat the global pandemic coronavirus.
Considering the dire need of the PPEs, the company handed over 15,000 PPEs, 25,000 of masks and 1,150 of basic face shield to the government in the 1st phase, said a company press release here.
Global Manufacturing Managing Director of the Youngone Corporation Sabyasachi Chowdhury handed over the equipments to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Director General Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad at a function at the DGHS in the city.
Managing Director of the Korean Export Processing Zone Md Shahjahan, Managing Director of Materials Division Yameen Farook and Head of HRM of the Youngone Corporation Shiblee Azam were present at the function, among others.
According to the release, Kihak Sung, the Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youngone Corporation, came forward to manufacture “Standard PPEs” on an emergency basis and under special arrangements to donate to the Bangladesh government for helping the government to combat the COVID-19.
The equipments will be used by front line service providers including doctors, nurses as well as other health service providers and members of the related government agencies who are engaged in the field to restrict the spread of the coronavirus.
The company will donate a total of 25,000 PPEs, 25,000 masks and 25,000 basic face shields, which are being manufactured in Youngone Hi-Tech Sportswear Ind. Ltd. located in Dhaka Export Processing Zone.
The fabric used in the protective garment and face mask have also been developed and produced by Youngone Corporation’s textile factories located in Dhaka EPZ and Korean EPZ.
The remaining items will be delivered as soon as those are made ready by April 19.
