DSCC provides foods to 2,221 houses responding phone-calls
DHAKA, April 10, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has
reached out foods to 2,221 houses responding to hotline phone calls as the
nationwide lockdown declared to enforce ‘stay at home’ rules seemingly put
low-income group people in trouble.
DSCC mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon took the initiative to reach out foods to
doorsteps of people in a limited scale on April 4 as many people do not want
to stand in queue to collect the foods, said a DSCC press release here today.
DSCC has opened a control room in this regard. Control room numbers are
01709- 900703 and 01709-900704.
So far 3,383 people have registered for getting foods by making calls to
the hotline numbers while 2,221 people have already been provided with foods
and a process is underway to reach foods to remaining 1,462 houses.
People who need to get the food under the programe have been requested to
make calls to the hotline numbers.
