Murad reaches out foods to doorsteps of destitute
JAMALPUR, April 4, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Information Dr Md Murad
Hassan has reached out relief goods to doorsteps of destitute people in
Sarishabari as the nationwide lockdown, declared to enforce ‘stay at home’
rules, apparently pushed the low-income group people in trouble.
The state minister also donated Taka 5 lac to Sarishabari Upazila Nirbahi
Officer’s disaster risk reduction and emergency fund here in the wake of the
deadly coronavirus outbreak.
He handed over the money to the UNO at a view-exchange which was attended
by upazila chairman, municipality mayor, upazila health officer, government
officials and volunteers on Friday.
Talking to journalists, he called for making coordinated efforts of all to
fight the crisis that has already claimed eight lives in Bangladesh and over
60,000 across the globe.
Hassan called upon the people to maintain the ‘stay at home’ directives of
the government and the World Health Organization (WHO) to keep them protected
from being infected by the deadly contagious novel coronavirus.
