14-party urges govt to give stimulus in small businesses
DHAKA, April 3, 2020 (BSS) – The 14-party alliance today called upon the government to consider giving stimulus to small businesses during the lockdown triggered by deadly coronavirus outbreak prompting the government to declare long holidays to enforce ‘stay home’ directives for all.
“Likewise different countries all over the world, Bangladesh economy is also going to witness down trend which could push some small businessmen in ‘life-support’. The government should think of giving stimulus in this sector,” said a statement of the alliance.
Singed by alliance spokesperson and Awami League Presidium member Mohammad Nasim said the government has recently declared of giving Taka 5,000 crore stimulus in garment sector to cope with the crisis.
