Govt doing everything to contain COVID-19: Hanif
KUSHTIA, April 03, 2020 (BSS)- Ruling Awami League joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif today said the government is making all-out efforts to slow down the spread of much-feared coronavirus (COVID-19) and protect the people from being infected with the virus.
“The government is working with utmost sincerity in ensuring people’s safety during the outbreak coronavirus,” he told reporters after a meeting on the coronavirus situation at Kushtia General Hospital here.
He urged everyone to follow the ‘stay at home’ directives to keep them away from being infected with the deadly virus that has already claimed six lives in the country and nearly 55,000 across the globe.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aslam Hossain and district AL President Sadar Uddin Khan along with general secretary Azgar Ali were present on the occasion.
Earlier, Hanif distributed rice among destitute people in several wards.
