DHAKA, March 27, 2020 (BSS) – The Islamic spiritual hub of Maizbhandar
Darbar today urged the wealthy people and business houses to stand by the
poor with their resources saying the COVID-19 pandemic appeared as test for
them to prove their moral stand for the distressed humanity.

“The COVID-19 particularly has exposed the poor and low income people like
day labourers to extreme vulnerability . . . this is a situation when the
wealthy people and business houses now must stand by these people with
whatever resources they have,” incumbent leader of the darbar Saifuddin Ahmed
Maizbhandari said in a statement.

He feared if not the coronavirus, a protracted lockdown situation could
threaten the life of these helpless and underprivileged people.

The Darabar earlier in a statement said they launched a nationwide Health
Protection Product Distribution programme to prevent COVID-19 spread and on
the first day of the campaign they distributed 5,000 packets containing
sanitisers, handkerchiefs, antiseptic solutions for hand wash and soaps.

It said the campaign, opened by Saifuddin Ahmed on March 24, would
continue across the country in cooperation with Hazrat Syed Mainuddin Ahmed
Maizbhandari Trust, Anjuman-e-Rahmania Mainia Maizbhandaria and Mainia Youth
Forum.
