Bangabandhu’s birthday celebrated in London
DHAKA, March 18, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh High Commission in London celebrated the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day-2020 on Tuesday in a befitting manner.
At the beginning of the celebration, the high commissioner hoisted the national flag on the mission premises.
Marking the day, ‘Bangabandhu Lounge’ was inaugurated on the high commission premises with the presence of Bangladesh High Commissioner in London Saida Muna Tasneem, said a press release here today.
Messages delivered by President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister were read out on the occasion.
The programmes also included- placing of floral wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, offering special munajat seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and his family members and cutting cake.
High commission officials, employees and several cultural persons of Bangladeshi-British community were present, among others, on the occasion.
