Rating Chess prize distribution ceremony held
DHAKA, June 12,2018 (BSS)- The prize-distribution ceremony of the WALTON
International FIDE Rating Chess Tournament-2018 sponsored by WALTON Group and
organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation was held on Tuesday at Bangladesh Chess
Federation hall-room held at National Sports Council (NSC) old building.
F M Iqbal Bin Anwar (Dawn), Senior Operative Director and Head of Sports & Welfare
of WALTON Group distributed prizes among winners as chief guest.
K M Shahidullah, Chairman of Tournament Committee and Vice President of Bangladesh
Chess Federation presided the ceremony.
M Faqrul Haque Shawon Head Producer of Program of Radio Today was present as special
guest.
International Arbiter M Haroon Or Rashid gave speeches at the closing ceremony.
GM Enamul Hossain Razib of SAIF Sporting Club became unbeaten champion in the event
with 8 points out of 9 games.
FM Kh. Aminul Islam of Bangladesh Navy became runner-up, Sonkalan Bharati of India
became 3rd and FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Sheikh Russel Chess Club became 4th with 7.5
points each.
Champion GM Razib received fifty one thousand taka cash prize money and WALTON gift.
Runner-Up FM Amin received thirty one thousand taka cash prize money and WALTON
gift, 3rd Sonkalan received twenty one thousand taka cash prize money and WALTON
gift.
FM Parag received ten thousand taka cash prize money and WALTON gift. Total two lac
taka cash prize money and fifty thousand taka WALTON gifts given to all winners.
The event was held in 9 round Swiss-League system and total 146 players including
one Grandmaster and one International Master from Bangladesh and India participated
in this meet.
