Zambian army commander pays courtesy call on President

DHAKA, Feb 20, 2020 (BSS) – Zambian Army Commander Lt General William
Manipamber Sikazwe paid a courtesy call on President M Abdul Hamid at
Bangabhaban here this evening.

During the meeting, the President stressed on the feasibility study for
doing joint-exercise of the army personnel between Bangladesh and Zambia,
which can play very positive role in strengthening relations among the army
personnel of the two countries.

President’s Press Secretary M Joynal Abedin told BSS after the meet.

President Hamid said this joint-exercise would also help enhance
professional expertise and experience.

Referring to professional training at National Defence College as well as
Defence Services and Staff College here, the President said the army officers
can avail this opportunities of imparting advanced professional training
there.

Zambian General apprised the President of his visit to different
establishments here and meetings with Bangladesh army chief and other high
officials.

He told the President that being trained in Bangladesh their military
officers are putting the sign of professional skill in their respective
offices with outstanding performances.

The army commander hoped that the relations between the members of the
armed forces of the two countries would strengthen in the days to come.

Secretaries concerned to the President, among others, were present.
